MMM MM ... was created as a temporary sculptural installation installed on Blindern Campus. An associated programme consisting of lectures, artworks, performances and readings from invited scholars and artists was part of the art-project and open to the public.
The installation was raised on the premises of University of Oslo by invitation from the Department of Linguistics and Scandinavian Studies and the research project Marian Words and Marian Images. In collaboration with the Museum of Cultural History and Kunstnernes Hus.

MMMMM … aims to bring visitors into contact with the notions and view of the female as creator and political being, in opposition to the narrow understanding of the symbol Mary as a mother and virgin. The title MMMMM… Alone (of all her sex) refers to Marina Warner’s book Alone of all her sex. The myth and cult of Virgin Mary (Oxford Press, 1976).
