The sculpture group, Helga, Dagfinn, Judith, Rita, Nawal, comprises five pieces: two in square steel with wooden details and three in hard plywood/metal with polished cement putty or resin surfaces. Drawing on the concept of the amphitheater—a historical space for dialogue and learning—the sculptures symbolize the research arena as a place for open participation. Named after prominent researchers, their first names allow for personal and universal associations, adding a human and interactive dimension to the sculptures, which can be sat on or leaned against.
The relief, Project, consists of 59 birch veneer elements treated with natural oil and colored in four shades. Its triangular, geometric forms echo the building’s granite floor and suggest fluttering pages, folded paper, or books—evoking the fleeting and dynamic nature of knowledge. Positioned high in the space, the relief draws the gaze upward and highlights the room’s unique atmosphere.
